A brief history of
New Beginnings Bible Church, Ferris, TX
New Beginnings Bible Church began August 22, 2004 when approximately 25 people met for prayer in Park Meadow's Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Waxahachie, Texas one Sunday afternoon. After much prayer they could sense God calling them to start a church.
And so it began...........And the Lord blessed the church!
The next Sunday, August 29, 2004 we met in Green's Funeral Home Chapel where there were 40 present. We moved on to hold services in the Ferris Intermediate school cafeteria. September 05,2004 was our first service there. The invitation was opened up for membership for the first time and 46 people came forward for charter membership with the church. Dr Bobby Adams was called to be the full-time Pastor.
December 26, 2004 we extended our charter membership until January 31, 2005. At the end of that month there were 82 members. Our church was organized December 05, 2004 with Dr Gary Coleman, pastor, Lavon Drive Baptist Church, Garland, Texas extended an arm for the church to organize and he delivered the message. The Office of the Secretary of State issued New Beginnings Bible Church an Articles of Incorporation whereby formed a non-profit corporation.
We rented a building on January 09, 2005 and moved February 27, 2005 @ 507 S Main Ferris, Texas with a contract of (1) year. We remained there until the new worship facility was built. The inside and outside has been refurbished by members of the church. New carpet was installed on the floor through-out the building. The chairs are comfortable and beautiful. We have state of the art sound equipment, new drums and piano was purchased. Room dividers were put up for the Sunday school area as well as new chairs and tables.
A church family donated a new Projector and New Microphones and DVD Player was purchased. Two new church signs were installed outside which light up in the evening. And the church grew.
We had our first "Friend Day" April 24, 2005 with 216 present. Our church petitioned to become a member of the National Baptist Missionary of America in April in Joplin, MO and was accepted unanimously with no opposition. And the Lord blessed the church!
The first Anniversary of the church was August 28, 2005. We had a blessed day in the Lord. The Canaan Heir's Quartet came to deliver the special music and Brother Jerry Burnaman from the BMA Missions of Texas was our guest speaker. We had 245 present and (4) accepted the Lord that day. After the services we had a catered lunch waiting for us.
We were privileged to house over 300 Hurricane Rita Evacuees for three days. They were a blessing to all of us.
The church purchased two vans and a trailer for the Youth and Bus Ministry. Property was purchased @ 1970 FM 983, Ferris, TX and a building 100'x170' was purchased.
Mark Lynch is our Minister of Youth and David Cunningham accepted the call for Minister of Music the past week. We will have our first Awana program starting this September with Anthony Surratt as the director.
