Steve’s love of music became evident early on as he sang as a child in church. His formal music education, fostering his love of music and singing, began in elementary school and continued through junior and high school where he studied music and participated in both choir and band, learning to play multiple instruments.

After serving in the United States Navy, Steve searched for a place to sing. He joined the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) and quickly formed a competing quartet, the MetroTones. His quartet enjoyed success, winning several division contests over the years. Expanding on his love of barbershop harmony and desire to help preserve this original American art form, Steve became the assistant director in several choruses and earned the designation of Certified Director from the BHS.

While directing a women’s barbershop chorus, he offered private vocal instruction to the chorus members and soon had several regular students. It quickly became clear that he excelled as a teacher, leading him to return to school to study music at the University of Texas at Arlington. In 2003, he opened a voice studio and began taking students.

While Steve got his start in barbershop harmony groups, he teaches all styles of music. Whether your interest is to excel as a choir member, or to follow your dream of beginning a pop star, or you need specific help preparing for an upcoming solo or audition, Steve can help you.

Steve is currently continuing his voice studies under Phil Wolcott at the Plano Music Studio. Steve sings with Arlington Master Choral and is a vocalist for weddings and funerals throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
